Narvita

Support

A real person reads this address, and you'll usually hear back within a couple of days.

Please don't send screenshots of your journal — we'd rather not see it, and we can almost always help without it.

I've lost my recovery key

If you still have a device you're signed in on, open Settings → Backup and generate a new recovery key. Do this first, before anything else.

If you've lost every device and the key, we genuinely cannot get your backup back. It's encrypted on your phone before it's uploaded, so what we hold is unreadable to us — that's the point of it, and it's the cost of the promise. Anything still on a phone you have is fine, and you can export it.

How do I get my writing out?

Settings → Export. You'll get everything you've written, dated, as a document you can keep anywhere. This works during the free trial, with a subscription, and after a subscription ends — an app holding years of your private thinking has no business making it hard to leave.

Why won't it answer my health question?

Because it isn't qualified to, and we'd rather say so than guess. Narvita is a journal — it answers questions about what you've written. Ask something medical and it will decline and point you at a public-health source instead, and suggest someone who can actually examine you. That's deliberate: an app that answers "is this normal?" is behaving like a clinician whatever its disclaimer says.

The model download

Questions about your journal are answered by a model running on your phone. On most phones that means downloading one once — around 290MB, from Settings → Answering. It's an open model, it's the same file for everyone, and nothing about you is involved in fetching it.

You can remove it at any time in the same place. The app keeps working without it; answers are just shorter and more literal.

Narvita isn't picking up what I wrote

Tap the line underneath your writing to see what it understood, and tap anything to reject it — corrections stick. If it's missing something it should have caught, we'd genuinely like to know the phrasing (just the sentence, not your entry). That's how the reading gets better.

Deleting everything

Settings → Delete everything. It removes your writing from this phone and, if you had backup on, from the cloud as well — permanently and immediately. Export first if you want to keep anything.

Something's wrong and none of this covers it

Email [email protected] with what happened, what you expected, and your iPhone model and iOS version (iPhone Settings → General → About). That's usually enough.

Not medical advice

Narvita is a journal, not a medical device. It doesn't diagnose anything. Cycle predictions are estimates from your own writing and are not contraception. If something is worrying you, please talk to a clinician.
